Jacqueline Harvey
Having always dreamt of writing professionally, Jacqueline Harvey credits winning the CBCA Frustrated Writers' Competition in 2001 with helping to turn her dreams into reality. As well as working as Deputy Head of Abbotsleigh Junior School (Sydney), she is currently studying towards her Master of Arts in Writing and Literature.
She has now combined a successful career in education with her love of a good story. Her first book Code Name Mr Right was published in 2003 and was quickly followed by Code Name Unwanted (2204) and Code Name Rescue (2005).
Jacqueline's first picture book The Sound of the Sea (2005) explores the relationship between a young boy and his mother. Although Sam is devastated when his mother becomes ill and dies, he finds comfort in the relationship with his grandparents and the sound of the sea.
She is currently working on her first young adult title, which should be released in 2006.
Jacqueline has a commitment to life-long learning and is an inspiring public speaker. She loves to talk to children, teachers and parents on a broad range of topics and with a flair for accents, poetry recitation is a much loved feature of her presentations.
