Simon Groth
Simon Groth's first novel, "Here Today", was short listed in the 2006 Queensland Premier's Literary Awards in the emerging author category. His short fiction has appeared as a "mini shot" by Vignette Press as well as in the literary journals Meanjin, Island and Overland.
Simon draws on his experience as a writer, editor, web designer, musician and occupational therapist to deliver interactive and entertaining presentations for both children and adult groups. Topics include - traditional story workshops and readings, writing fiction in a digital world, blogging fiction, and seeing the world through your character's eyes (a presentation that draws on his occupational therapy background and gives participants a small insight into the experience of disability). The emphasis is always on fun and a love of words.
His website at www.simongroth.com houses an ongoing experiment in digital publishing, a new work in progress and a cranky virtual writer.
