Alex McCallum
Alex told her first stories at the age of three sitting on her family's orange kitchen floor. Since then she has performed for children, young people and adults in venues such as the State Library of Queensland, Queensland Art Gallery, National Storytelling Festivals in Brisbane and Perth and numerous schools and community organisations.
Her performances are a clever mix of traditional and contemporary stories which can be chosen to fit classroom priorities. She also runs storytelling and theatre workshops for children, young people and community organisations. These include her extremely popular Pocketsize Storytelling beginners workshops.
She has experience working with a diverse range of young people including young people at risk, ESL students and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Some of the organizations she has worked with include - State Library of Queensland Queensland Art Gallery Brisbane City Council Library Service Redland Shire Council Youth Arts Queensland Backbone Youth Arts Milperra State High School and many more different schools and community organisations.
