Bronwyn Blake
Bronwyn Blake lives in Central Victoria and in 2000 was awarded the inaugural May Gibbs Children's Literature Trust Mentorship for a new writer, which kick started her professional writing career.
Her first novel was Find Me a River (2001), which was a CBCA Notable Book in 2002 and this has been quickly followed by Rock Dancer (2002), Julia, My Sister (2003), Nick Riley's Ninth Life (2004), Dangerous Waters (2004) and Carrie's Song (2004). Her latest novel, Paddy McCann, Time Shifter, was published in 2005.
Her home in Maldon is surrounded by bush and she shares it with a range of animals and birds, including a tree-biting dog called Ella.
Originally working as a teacher, Bronwyn now writes full time and is continually besieged with ideas for further stories. For her 2000 was not just a new millennium, it was the beginning of a new life.
Bronwyn can help students turn their ideas and life experiences into stories through a range of lectures and creative writing workshops.
