Chris Hornsey

Chris Hornsey is a Melbourne-based writer who enjoys travelling and has worked in the UK and Hong Kong.

She is also the author of two children's books. Why do I have to eat off the floor? (illus. by Gwyn Perkins) which has been published in Australia, the United States, Japan, New Zealand, and the UK. Her second book, I Could Be a Superhero!, was published in October 2008 in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Why do I have to eat off the floor? was shortlisted for the CBCA 2006 Crichton Award for illustration.

Chris's dog, Murphy, is her muse and inspiration for both her books and she loves to talk to children about their relationships with their pets and their thoughts on how they see the world around the them.
