Gael Cresp
To hear a story simply but powerfully told is a wondrous experience.
Gael Cresp is a storyteller who allows the story she is telling to stand alone, without needing to embroider the experience with costume, puppets or dance (although she may sing). Her style of storytelling encourages active imagination, for it is only by imagining what might be that we can develop new knowledge in all fields, from science and technology to how to build a happy, peaceful and sustainable world.
As well as telling and writing stories, Gael works with people of all ages in a variety of settings, helping them to create their own stories and poetry, or teaching them how to listen to and then tell stories. She loves to inspire reading and library research and takes a special interest in developing programs for those who think they are too old, or way too cool, to listen to stories.
Gael also has a deep understanding of the role story and rhyme plays in the life of infants and toddlers and is a trained "Parent-Child Mother Goose" teacher.
In addition, Gael is a librarian and a published author and has Certificate IV in Workplace Training. Her two published picture books are The Biography of Gilbert Alexander Pig (illus. by David Cox) and Fish for Breakfast (illus. by Anna Pignataro).
