Hazel Edwards
Best known for There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake (which was recently translated into Chinese). In addition, her 200 titles have been translated into many languages including 'Fake ID' into Tamil.
Hazel writes across media, for adults & children. Pocket Bonfire Productions have created a short hippo film to celebrate the Hippo's 30th anniversary.
Hazel co-authored ex blog Cycling Solo: Ireland to Istanbul with her cartographer son Trevelyan Quest Edwards, the original 3 year old mind behind the hippo concept.

Hazel runs Non Boring Writing workshops for genealogists. She has been a national Literacy Champion, holds webinars and is Education Chair on the Australian Society of Authors' committee.
Appointed Nanjing-Australia cultural exchange author in 2009, Hazel has e-mentored dual language stories.

- The new Birthday Hippo illustrated by Deborah Niland.
- Difficult Personalities, co-written with Dr Helen Mc Grath (Penguin) has been reprinted within two months of publication, by Penguin and an USA edition is in progress.
- In February 2010, Ford Street Publishing will release her co-written YA novel "f2m" about transitioning from female to male.
Finally, Hazel has been announced as an Astrid Lindgren Award nominee for 2010.
