Jen Storer
Jen Storer is a Melbourne based children's author. She works from a cluttered studio at the Abbotsford Convent and is easily distracted. She has also worked on the other side of the publishing fence both as an editor and in creative development. Jen has a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and a nerdy preoccupation with Literary Theory. She was once a nurse which is why she can spell ‘diarrhoea' and ‘haemorrhage'.
Jen's books include I Hate Sport which is one of Penguin's bestselling Aussie Chomps. She has also written a much loved Aussie Bite entitled Sing, Pepi, Sing! Her latest book, a junior novel, is entitled Tan Callahan's Secret Spy Files: The Mystery of Purple Haunt. Jen likes saying this title really, really fast. Jen has a gothic adventure novel due for release in 2009. It is entitled The Grim Story of Tensy Farlow and the Home for Mislaid Children. She received an Australia Council for the Arts, Literature Board grant for this novel which was enough to scare her into finishing it.
Jen is available for author visits and likes to work closely with teachers in order to make her session relevant.
