Margaret Clark
Margaret has worked as a primary teacher, pre school director, university lecturer and alcohol and drug educator based at a centre in Geelong. These jobs have given her an insight into the lives of both children and teenagers.
Margaret has written over 100 books with her first book, Pugwall, published in 1987 and subsequently made into a TV series. Her most popular books include the Lisa Trelaw series (Fat Chance, Hot or What, Kiss and Make Up and Hooking Up) and the Sam Studley series (Hold My Hand or Else, Living with Leanne and Pulling the Moves). Her controversial titles Secret Girls' Stuff and More Secret Girls' Stuff and What to Do When Life Sucks are based on the many emails and letters she has received from children and teenagers with problems.
Margaret's books have won numerous awards in Europe and have been shortlisted in many of the children's choice awards.
Margaret prefers addressing large groups of students as well as workshops and author talks to teachers, conferences and festivals. Her exuberance becomes infectious as she hides many serious issues under a humorous veneer.
