Anne E Stewart

Anne E Stewart trained as a Children's Librarian at the Ballarat CAE, (now University), then headed for the Northern Territory, newly trained, to be based for several years at the Darwin Library.Anne E Stewart

"It was in the territory that I started to question the idea of What are our Australian stories?. A Catholic school girl imbibed with all that Celtic Mythology and then the Territory; it was like a different country."

"Annie comes to storytelling with a love of literature and her librarian training. But don't be fooled by that, you won't find Annie Stewart whispering behind the bookshelves. Like Judi Dench her voice will arrest your attention. June Barnes Editor "Swag Of Yarns"

Storytelling: History, Arts and Culture

Tertiary Education & U3A
Anne is available for workshops to share her storytelling experience and instruct on the importance of stories and how to go about it. Anne has a passion for local stories and un-covering the hidden treasures and little known stories of Australia. Her enthusiasm and passion for the subject will inspire.

Storytelling: Secondary Schools

Myths and legends of the Celts keep the most reluctant teenagers spellbound while local history stories, Australiana, and stories of our Indigenous People give a voice to the landscape, its people and our shared history. Anne's thought provoking stories will support your curriculum in SOSE.

Storytelling: Primary Schools

Anne's repertoire with Primary Schools includes great myths and legends of the world, 'true' ghost stories set in Australia and an introduction to local history and stories of our indigenous flora, fauna and landscapes. In the year of 100 years of Federation and the 150th Anniversary of the discovery of gold Anne has an interesting range of stories to support the curriculum.

Pre-School Storytime

Anne started her storytelling career with pre-school storytimes in libraries. Over the years she has collected many nursery rhymes, songs and stories that help introduce children to, and develop in them, a love of language and literature. Areas that support and enhance the curriculum's early listening, speaking and writing skills.

"An acclaimed storyteller with an international reputation. Her telling is a unique cultural experience."
Graham Langley, Director,Traditional Arts Team, U.K.
